I have worked in
studios all over America – New York City, Nashville, Los Angeles,
Seattle, San Francisco, Dallas, Texas – and have found no better,
more comfortable and more efficient place to record in than Martin
Baird’s (VMW) workplace. As an artist, having freedom to express
every nuance and every emotion in a recording project is so
important. That freedom is wherever Verge Music Works is
represented. Martin makes it so easy to be totally spontaneous and
creative in every part of the working day – or night. I believe
that his ability with the latest and most “interesting” technology
is comparable to any engineer in the business. I proudly say, “I
hope I’m a part of Martin’s musical family for years to come.”

I've been lucky
enough to record in some pretty big studios in New York and L.A.,
but I have to say that working with Martin at Verge Music Works is
one of the most pleasurable recording experiences I've had. When
I'm in the studio, there are several things that I don't want. For
example, I've found that in big, expensive studios, I've ended up
cheating myself out of taking creative risks because I'm too aware
of the money and the ticking of the clock. I also don't want a more
"famous" engineer to argue aesthetic decisions with me. But mostly,
I don't want to have to wait for technical problems to be sorted
out.
In Martin's studio,
I've always felt perfectly at home. And when I ask for a sound,
Martin delivers before I've finished my sentence. I end up getting
more work done in less time and being happier for it. Recording
with Martin is like a day at the spa, but without the cucumber
facial peel. Although, he does serve some excellent fruity tea!

When I took my guitars to Dallas Guitar Repair and told Dan McCarthy, who has worked on guitars for some of the biggest name bands around, that I was recording with Martin Baird at Verge Music Works, he told me, "Martin has the best ears in town", and I can't really sum it up any better than that, though I can personally say that what you get with Martin is a level of precise attention to detail that many musicians don't want to deal with.

Just wanted to let you know that I thought you did a great job mastering my new CD and especially with communication between us. You made everything very easy. I hope that I can record again as well as work with you at Verge Music Works. Thanks again.

I couldn't believe I could find the professionalism and expertise that Martin provides so close to me and so affordably! He was extremely efficient with his tools, meticulous with the details, and easy to work with, handling my complex string session with great aplomb. Highly recommended! A consummate professional.

Martin is pretty much the best producer I know of.
Over the time we spent recording with him I feel we all changed as
musicians for the better. I really feel like how he brought things
out of us as a band that no other producer could have through his
attention to detail and knowledge. We will forever be indebted to
him in more ways than one.
Thanks again Marty.

Working at Verge Music Works was simple, easy, and affordable. It's a great thing having such a convenient studio available in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Martin understood the goal of my recordings and helped me achieve it in my desired time frame. VWM is not only affordable, but comfortable as well. It was like working right out of my own home and that removed any pressure I might have felt recording anywhere else. I can honestly say that when working with Martin, you won't need to worry about a thing! Reliable, affordable, comfortable! That's all you really need, isn't it?

Recording with Martin and my band for the first time was a great experience. Martin’s work ethic is something that helped me and my band understand how a great record is made. His professionalism, dedication, hospitality, and artistry as an engineer made it so easy to record and complete the work we wanted to get done. Whenever I had an idea in mind, Martin knew exactly how to use the tools in his studio to execute it the right way and get the final result on the record. Working with Martin was an unforgettable experience and I look forward to recording with him again in the future. Verge Music Works is truely a great place to record. Way da go Martin...!!!

I have worked with
Martin Baird and Verge Music Works on many different types of
projects from pop/rhythm based songs to full symphonic recordings.
His musical and technical knowledge and expertise always combine for
a great experience. His work is always top-notch and he always
seeks to completely satisfy the customer in terms of quality and
efficiency. I highly recommend Martin as a producer and recording
engineer. His personal care over each product is rare and enables
artists to achieve their goals with excellence and at a very
competitive price. It's a joy to work with Martin and to recommend
him to others.

My experience at Verge Music Works was a total positive! The atmosphere in the studio is very relaxed and accommodating, and Martin Baird is a joy to work with. He's very fast and fluent with all the equipment, and I always felt that the music and the musicians came first. I highly recommend Verge Music Works for a rewarding, creative experience!

Martin Baird is the consummate professional. Whether you are a recording artist or a grandfather recording a CD with his grandaughter for Christmas (which was our case), he brings the same intensity, attention to detail, helpful suggestions, and sensitivity to the recording sessions. His creativity in the mixing process is amazing! I could not recommend anyone more highly than Martin for any type of recording.

I can't tell you how grateful I am that you were the one to work on this project. What a gift you are! All the things that I wanted to go back and clean up... YOU DID!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! I can't tell you how much I love the final product. What a blessing you are!

I've had the
privilege of working with Martin for the last ten years on many
different projects. I've recorded in Nashville as well as
Indianapolis but I would always choose to work at Verge Music Works
here in Dallas. The various projects we've done together have
ranged in style from pop, country, Celtic, acappella, solo piano, to
more classical oriented symphonic things. Martin always does a
fantastic job and is a joy to work with, not to mention the fact
that his rates are very reasonable. Over the years, he has become a
trusted friend and has helped me to become the best recording artist
that I can be. Due to his extensive technical knowledge, Martin can
help anyone get the most use of their money and achieve the best end
product while in his studio.

The Roof Raisers
band has done two major demo's with Martin Baird at VMW. These were
done several years apart. The first was great and the second was
even better. I know that Martin is constantly updating his gear and
his knowledge and that really gets my creative vibe going. I've
been in the recording business as a session musician for twenty
years in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area and have played sessions in
almost every studio in the Dallas / Fort Worth area. Martin's
studio is the perfect place for doing our music. It is centrally
located, very reasonably priced, and has a loose, comfortable but
totally professional atmosphere. I can't begin to tell you how many
calls I received from booking agents telling me that our new demo
was the best one that they had every heard. PERIOD! Martin's
creative editing and understanding of what I needed to sell my band
was right on target. My band books about 80 private parties a year
and our number one sales tool is the demo CD done with Verge Music
Works. The Roofs will be back in the studio soon to update and I
already know that I want Martin to work his magic on another one.

I've known Martin
for many years and can vouch for his meticulous attention to detail
and his determination and expertise in providing a recording
environment that serves the client. His control room is one of the
best listening environments I've experienced, and as such would make
a wonderful place to mix your project. In addition, I've tracked
with Martin on several occasions as band member and solo artist and
find the environment Verge Music Works provides to be relaxing,
comforting and peaceful. It is very conducive to the creative
spirit. I've never felt the pressure at Verge that I've felt at
other, bigger studios. I can't say enough good things about Martin
and Verge; he's got a good thing going on there and I strongly urge
you to check it out for your next project.

Everytime I work with Martin at Verge
Music Works it is nothing short of wonderful. He is a very
dedicated, focused and detailed-oriented engineer and producer. My
most recent experience in his studio was awesome. Martin worked
fervently on my material and brought some very creative “hook” ideas
to my work. He sculpted my songs by bringing in some great musicians
that he felt would add just the right feel to the music. This meant
so much to me as a solo artist. He took the time to listen to my
concepts and guided me toward the best intent for each song. One of
Martin’s greatest strengths creatively is his ability to come up
with unique and rich harmonies. This addition put much needed meat
on the skeleton of my songs; made them interesting and appealing. He
is always willing to try new things, and is very patient. He has
GREAT ears, and knows what good music should sound like. The studio
is very laid back, and I instantly felt at home while working there.
Martin is extremely ethical and intentional and he runs his studio
with integrity. All of this said, Verge Music Works is a wonderful
place to make some great music!/fontfamily>

In the short time
we have known Martin, I would not consider many others to be as good
a friend to the band. Martin taught us the ropes of recording while
we had a blast doing it. His attention to detail and his way of not
settling for mediocrity far surpass any other I've ever known. I
know that we would record with Martin again over any other engineer
you could show us. He's simply the best.

What's not to
praise about Verge Music Works? It's a comfortable, state of the
art facility with the technology to capture your sound with utmost
precision operated by an insightful, personable master
engineer/producer, Martin Baird, who unfailingly elicits and
captures your "passion" (an illusive thing indeed)! Having
entrusted several of my projects to Verge Music Works over the past
10 years, I can attest that Martin will not only make you sound
better than you ever have before, he will make you a better musician
than you were before. My only complaint about Martin & Verge is that
I can't lure, coerce, or otherwise "clone" him to Nashvegas!

We visited Verge Music Works without a complete band, and had to improvise on instruments we were not accustomed to playing. But Martin made us sound like we knew what we were doing. Working with Martin is like working with a magician. It's amazing to watch him turn our messy strokes into a clean masterpiece.

Working with Martin
Baird has been a completely positive experience. Through his
company, Verge Music Works, he has delivered the best quality
product by the most efficient and cost effective means. Cynthia has
collaborated with Martin along with Bruce Greer on the last two
albums she has recorded. Each process was handled in a highly
professional and extremely courteous fashion. His technical
expertise and attention to detail give Martin that all-important
edge necessary to excel in the recording field. We will continue to
turn to Verge Music Works for our company’s production and recording
needs.

Comfort means
creativity! That is what makes Verge such a great place to record.
Being creative in music production means trying many ideas until you
find what you are looking for. Verge has the tools to do this.
Moreover, Martin's engineering skills make this process quick and
easy. I have recorded numerous projects at Verge including Neo and
my Passing Strangers CD Re-Frozen. These wonderful recorded moments
can only be attributed to God, and Verge Music Works.

I have had the
pleasure of working at Verge Music Works multiple times, and each
time has been fantastic. Martin has some of the best ears in
Dallas, and it shows in the fine work that is consistently produced
from his studio. Further, and just as important, working with
Martin is always an enjoyable and rewarding experience. He
constantly is seeking new techniques, the best equipment, and ever
ready to seek new ideas and directions to achieve the vision and
sound the end user wants. I can think of no better place to get a
great recording and a positive musical encounter than Verge Music
Works.

Martin is a teacher. We were basically rookies coming
into our studio experience with Martin. He taught us so much about
the recording process, about song arrangement, production and
performance, and even about our own music. In the 8 months we spent
recording at VMW, we improved dramatically as musicians and
songwriters. We owe that largely in part to Martin's tutoring and
influence. We all look forward to the possibility of learning from
him again on future projects.

I feel very much at ease while recording in Martin's studio. I love that he is able to record me while I'm singing and playing the guitar simultaneously. Because of that, I feel the sound is more authentic and genuine. Often times, I almost forget that I'm in the studio!

I have recorded at
Verge Music Works many times over the years. These projects have
included pop, dance, and rock. Regardless of the genre, it has

highly recommend. Four Stars!!

Martin is an amazing recording artist! It was awesome getting to work with him when my grandfather and I recorded a Christmas CD with him. Even though the CD was just going out in Christmas cards for family and close friends, he still acted as though it was a professional CD going out to millions of people. If I ever need to record anything I definitely know where to go!

For our project, Martin was the paintbrush that made our inspiration come alive. His innovative knowledge in music and audio technology helped us create the sound we wanted to hear. I look forward to working with Martin again on my next musical project.

What a pleasure to work with a true pro like Martin.
With a deadline to meet on a TV theme song, I recorded, mixed,
mastered, and had it to my client the next day. A beautiful
efficient work space, and Martin's engineering skills are as good as
any I have worked with in LA ,Nashville or NY. Thanks for great
work!
